MBA entrance exams in Gujarat

As an MBA aspirant, you will be required to go through rigorous preparation and tests to land a seat at a reputed institute for a management degree. The top MBA colleges in Ahmedabad, Gujarat accept most competitive examination scores based on their declared cut-offs for admissions during that year. The cut-offs are posted on the university website along with the entrance exams accepted by the institutes. These exams are taken at various levels such as national level exams like CAT, MAT, and CMAT. Some of these are regional level exams such as GCET, MAH-CET, KMAT, etc. There are also some exams conducted directly by the University or colleges such as IIFT, IRMASAT, SNAP, and XAT. Let us take a look at some of these exams which you may choose to prepare for depending on the desired institute and management degree you wish to pursue.

Common Admission Test (CAT) is conducted every year by Indian Institute of Management and is considered among the most widely recognized and popular entrance examination. CAT has three major sections for testing students which include Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC). August-September and the exams are conducted in November-December.

Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET) is conducted annually for MBA and MCA students of Gujarat. It only started in 2002 and is held between March and August. The test is available in English and Gujarati languages and covers sections such as n quantitative ability, reasoning, data interpretation, reading comprehension, verbal ability, and general knowledge.

Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is also a widely recognized National entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency. Held in January every year, the test has similar sections to most management exams including Quantitative technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. 

Management Aptitude Test or MAT is widely accepted (by over 650 management institutes ) across India. The exam is conducted four times a year February, May, September and December and can be appeared for in English or Hindi languages. The wide range of subjects in this examination includes language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning, and Indian and global environment.

AIMS Test for Management Admissions or ATMA is a national level entrance examination which is conducted four times a year in February, May, July, and August. The exam has various sections including Analytical Reasoning Skills Part 1, Analytical Reasoning Skills Part 2, Quantitative Skills Part 1, Quantitative Skills Part 2, Verbal Skills Part 1, Verbal Skills Part 2.
