Guide to an MBA in Gujarat

A business administration degree can launch your career in management if you get your steps right. Choosing the right program, the right college, the right location and of course, the right specialization. It is not necessary that you get all the factors of your choice and preference but you can start with good research, strong preparation, and timely application to increase your chances of getting into the program and Institute of your choice. MBA colleges in Gujarat are attracting students from across the western region. Especially in and around the major cities of Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot, and Surat. The best MBA colleges are generally in these sub-metro cities or on their outskirts.

The first step is that you will have to decide if you would like to pursue an MBA (Masters of Business Administration) or PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management). Based on this, you will be able to choose the right institute. Once you have chosen your degree type, you will also have to narrow down on one of the many specializations offered in MBA colleges of Gujarat. Depending on the institute, you will be required to choose from specializations such as Marketing, Operations, Finance, General Management/Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. International Business Management, Media/Communications, Supply chain management, Human resources, Corporate strategy/Consulting, Health Care Management, Information Systems/IT/Technology, Organizational Behavior, Sustainability.

Having decided your preference of city, university, degree, and specialization - you will be able to focus your efforts towards your entrance exam scores, admission process, and financial planning. It is safe to say that starting six months in advance for competitive exams like CAT, XAT, GMAT, ATMA, etc. can help safely land the percentile you aim for. This can be with or without coaching as long as you plan the schedule and topics to cover during these months. Some people have also succeeded in achieving good numbers in these exams with the preparation of only 3-4 months but risking your career on chance and last-minute preparation is not advisable.

Once you have cleared your competitive exams, you enter the stages where you will require more than just academic know-how. The universities that choose you will invite you for group discussion and private interview rounds. Clearing these rounds needs awareness of current issues, basics of business and logical reasoning, verbal skills and overall strong presentation of yourself. Getting into MBA is not easy but once you clear the years of hard work and rigorous studies, you will be eligible to pursue your dreams in any field of your choice in management positions.
